Fishing!
Upper Klamath Lake offers some of the largest rainbow trout found anywhere in the country. 3-6 pound rainbows are common, 8-10 pounders plentiful, with fish to 20 pounds hooked but seldom landed. There are also numerous other rivers and lakes within an hours drive of Rocky Point, including the famous Williamson River. Information on Upper Klamath as well as other area fishing guides are available through the resort.

  • $20.00 deposit required on all boats.  Deposit will be applied on rental or toward cleaning, repair or loss of property.

Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge

Rocky Point Resort fronts on the Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge, a year round haven for waterfowl and other wildlife. Otters, mink, raccoons, deer and a host of other wildlife can be observed in this scenic area. The majestic bald eagle is master of the sky, thrilling visitors with their shrill cry as they swoop downward to snare trout from the lake. 
 

 

Waterfowl Hunting

Upper Klamath Lake offers the ultimate experience in waterfowl hunting. Local guide information available at the resort. 

Hiking 

Rocky Point Resort is located only minutes away from trails leading into Sky Lakes Wilderness and the Pacific Crest Trail. 
 

Boating 

Upper Klamath is the largest lake in Oregon covering an area of 133 square miles, approximately 28 miles long. 

Nearly ten miles of canoe and kayak trails lace waterways through the National Wildlife Refuge that lies just off the docks at Rocky Point Resort. Sail boating is popular on the body of the lake. Sailboats and other watercraft are frequent visitors to the Resort where overnight berthing is available. 

Camera Buffs

Rocky Point offers a breathtaking panorama whatever the season. Sunsets are softly reflected in the lake year round making The Restaurant at Rocky Point an area favorite. 

Sunrises, especially fall through spring, are simply spectacular. Golden aspens set in towering pines on the shores of the lake each fall present a brilliant palate of colors to photographers. 


Nearby Attractions

Within an hour’s scenic drive of Rocky Point, visitors can enjoy the majestic natural beauty of Crater Lake National Park, Lava Beds National Monument, Tulelake National Wildlife Refuge, the Rogue River Gorge and Natural Bridge. Providing entertainment and delightful shopping, are nearby Ashland (home of the world famous Shakespeare Festival) and historic Jacksonville (site of the Britt Music Festival). Golfers can play the outstanding Arnold Palmer designed course at the nearby Running Y. Horseback riding at Pelican Butte Stables is only one mile from Rocky Point Resort.
